Soft edges and painting across the form
|
Skin has texture. Don't blend the life out of it. These
legs were finished with a #4 high quality Winsor & Newton series 7 kolinsky
sable watercolor round. Lately I've been buying my sables from a
wonderful little brush making company called Trekell. Check their
website at www.trekell.com.
In general, it's a good idea to go across the form with your brush strokes rather than along the form - unless you're painting tree trunks. I went to a lot of time and trouble to create soft edges on the upper thighs. I did it by laying down about a billion tiny paint strokes. I really don't have the patience for this kind of work! |
